A new program, not a new organization.

Access Asia is run by the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce, which has served the region's business community since 2012. The delegations, summits, and relationships the program depends on already exist. What Access Asia adds is sustained presence in Asian markets and a direct route back to the organizations positioned to act on what it finds.

THE CHAMBER

Serve local. Think global.

The Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce was founded in 2012 to build the infrastructure that Asian and Asian American businesses in Central Texas rely on. It began with the local work of advocacy, connection, and education, and grew alongside a business community that now numbers in the tens of thousands. International delegations, trade missions, and summits followed as members' interests reached across the Pacific. Access Asia formalizes work the Chamber has been doing for years.

GAACC represents more than 2,500 member organizations and over 7,400 individuals across the Central Texas region. It runs more than 50 programs and events a year, from the Asia by Austin Summit during SXSW to the Central Texas–Korea Summit, the Ovation Gala, and the Fall Classic. The Leadership Accelerator and the Biz Essentials Series serve members at every stage of growth. That reach is what makes a program like Access Asia possible without building an organization from scratch.

Behind those figures sits a regional Asian business community of roughly 35,000 enterprises, including more than 10,000 employer firms, about 12 percent of all employer businesses in Greater Austin. Those numbers come from the Central Texas Asian Impact Project, GAACC's own research.
