ACCESS AUSTIN
The program runs in both directions.
Access Asia is building sustained presence across five Asian markets, promoting Greater Austin year round and in market. Access Austin is the other half, the work of receiving the companies that decide to come. One without the other is a marketing campaign.
THE INBOUND SIDE
A landing pad, not a brochure.
Access Austin is the soft landing side of the program, built for mid-sized Asian firms that arrive without the legal, real estate, and compliance teams a multinational brings with it. It runs the other way too, helping Central Texas companies enter Asian markets.
- Relocation support.
- Site selection guidance, introductions, and the practical help a company needs to open in the Austin region.
- Ecosystem immersion.
- Access to the people, institutions, and networks a new arrival would otherwise take years to find.
- Startup and scaleup resources.
- Routes into Austin's founder, accelerator, and investor community.
- Capital attraction and growth.
- Connecting inbound firms with regional investment and growth partners.
- Delegation assistance.
- Hosting, programming, and matchmaking for visiting delegations from priority markets.
- Outbound expansion.
- Helping Central Texas firms export and enter Asian markets, using the same relationships in reverse.
The Access Austin soft landing program is what we are building toward, and it grows as the program does.
WHY AUSTIN
This is the case we make in Taipei and Seoul.
The region's advanced manufacturing cluster runs to roughly 100 companies employing about 60,000 people in semiconductor-related work. Texas carries no state income tax, and the Texas Triangle accounts for around 75 percent of a $2.7 trillion state economy.
An Asian company arriving here also finds a business community already established. GAACC's 2026 Austin Asian Impact Report counts roughly 35,000 Asian-owned business entities in the region, including more than 10,000 employer firms, about 12 percent of all employer businesses in Greater Austin. Those firms grew 42 percent between 2020 and 2026, more than double the rate of the region's business base overall.

Access Austin Ecosystem Partners
The soft landing ecosystem already exists.
Opportunity Austin, the Williamson County Economic Development Partnership, and the Hays Caldwell Economic Development Partnership do the work of recruiting, siting, and supporting international investment across this region every day. They hold the relationships with cities, utilities, sites, and landowners that no chamber program can replicate. Access Austin is built to work alongside them and to send business their way. Nothing in this program is intended to replace what they already do well.
What Access Asia adds is the one thing the region has not had, which is sustained presence in Asian markets with a direct route back to the partners who can act on what it finds. That is a complement, not a competitor.
THE MODEL
Williamson County proved the model. We are extending it.
Since 2023 the Williamson County Economic Development Partnership has run a representative office in Seoul, supported by twelve delegation trips and 73 Williamson County representatives traveling to Korea. Yongin City became a sister city to the county. Nine Korean companies have since landed in Williamson County. It worked.
Access Asia's long-term vision for in-country representation is modeled directly on that approach, with Taiwan as the intended first market. Sustained presence in market, promoting the region, reporting into coordination in Austin that routes every lead back to program partners. We did not invent this, we are extending a proven regional model into a second market.
NEXT STEP
Ask us how the inbound side works.
Access Austin matters most to the organizations that stand to gain when a company chooses this region. Tell us what your organization does and we will show you where it fits.
