Trillions in Asian trade and investment commitments are relocating to the United States. Access Asia is the program working to route it into the Greater Austin region, and to connect it to the local firms ready to build, supply, and serve it.
Austin sits at the center of a region connecting Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, with the full arc from software to hardware and supply chain to mass manufacturing. It is an innovation to industry hub, increasingly connected to Asia.

In 2026 the United States finalized trade and investment frameworks with three of its largest Asian trading partners.
In Greater Austin, the $37 billion Samsung expansion in Taylor has already triggered a clustering effect, drawing Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers into the Austin–San Antonio corridor. Pegatron and Compal have committed in Williamson County. Dongjin Semichem and iMarket America are building out a Korean materials cluster.

Central Texas already has real momentum with Asia. Williamson County EDP has built a presence in Korea. The City of Austin is raising the area's international profile. Opportunity Austin is recruiting regionally. The Hays Caldwell Economic Development Partnership is elevating its region globally. GAACC has run delegations and summits for over a decade.
What the region does not yet have is a coordinated, always-on Asia strategy. One connective layer that keeps Greater Austin visible in Taipei, Seoul, and Tokyo year round, and routes what comes back to the organizations positioned to act on it.
Capital moving at this speed goes where someone is already standing. Access Asia complements what the region is already doing rather than duplicating it.

Williamson County EDP demonstrated what sustained presence delivers: a Seoul office, twelve delegations, and nine Korean companies landed in Central Texas. It is the clearest local evidence that this approach works, and Access Asia extends that model across five priority markets.
GAACC brings the other half. We already run the programming this depends on. Asia by Austin at SXSW, the Central Texas–Korea Summit, annual delegations to Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Korea, and more than 50 events a year.
Access Asia gives that existing infrastructure a permanent presence in Asia, and a direct pipeline back to the partners who fund it.
