Trip report
A seven-day delegation co-hosted with the Williamson County Economic Development Partnership, traveling to Seoul, Gwangmyeong, and Yongin Special City. Central Texas civic leadership joined, including Williamson County Judge Steven Snell and County Commissioner Russ Boles, alongside business leaders from across the region. It was the first joint delegation of its kind for Central Texas.
The week opened with country briefings from AmCham Korea and the team at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul. Meetings followed across the Korean trade and business establishment, including KOTRA, KITA, KCCI, and KOCCA. The delegation attended BIOPlus Interphex Korea, putting Central Texas companies in front of the Korean life sciences and manufacturing sector directly, and closed with a dinner hosted alongside the University of Texas at Austin alumni chapter in Korea.
Korea was already GAACC's deepest market relationship before this trip, through the Central Texas–Korea Summit and the Chamber's standing K-Business work. What the delegation added was direct institutional contact, a civic-leadership presence the region had not previously brought to Seoul, and a working template for the joint economic development model that Access Asia now runs on. Access Korea 2026 returns to Seoul in October.
