Trip report

A six-day delegation to Singapore, closing the 2026 program. Mark Duval and GAACC chair-elect David Teo led it, joined by Assistant City Manager Michael Rogers, Chief of Staff Genesis Gavino, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport CEO Ghizlane Ezziani Badawi. The trip followed up on the memorandum of understanding the City of Austin signed with Enterprise Singapore in 2025.

Enterprise Singapore opened an Austin office in 2026. The strategy session there covered AI adoption and green transition work on both sides. The delegation also met ACE.sg at LaunchPad@One-North, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation, the Singapore Business Federation, and the U.S. Embassy Commercial Service.

Infrastructure ran through the week. A site visit to Keppel's district cooling plant at Changi covered cooling design and battery storage. PUB Singapore hosted a tour at Marina Barrage on water management. Changi Airport Group briefed the group on airport technology with Austin-Bergstrom's CEO in the room. Each of those maps onto something Central Texas is currently building.
